Followed all the instructions multiple times including the troubleshooting. Reset to factory default a few times during the process. Every time, when I open the store I get the "Updating your Kindle Store experience. This should take less than a minute." message and then it goes right to the traditional Kindle Store. I am not seeing a "Mesquito" or Winterbreak icon anywhere.

I've retried multiple times and I'm just not seeing it. I've read every message in this thread. I tried going through the store a few times and deleting the LocalStorage folder when it shows up. I've tried logging into the Kindle using the phone app and logging directly in on the device. I've tried rebooting from the store menu, and rebooting from the library. Am I just being stupid and missing something? Any thoughts or suggestions?

My Kindle root directory looks like this:
.active_content_sandbox
.github
.hidden
apps
audible
documents
fonts
mesquito
screenshots
system
System Volume Information
.gitignore
jb.sh
patchedUks.sqsh
README.md

I've tried deleting everything that's not in the directory structure shown in step 3 of 7 so that it's identical to that file tree.
Are you sure you’re copying the .active_content_sandbox folder from the jailbreak on top of the one on your Kindle? It seems you’re missing this part of the hack. As the filename starts with a dot it might not show up in the folder where you extracted Winterbreak; then again I see you did copy over the .gitignore file so I guess you probably can see it.
