I'm also getting this error. I do the cache preload by hand (vs the code doing it for me) for my FF . net stories. However, this only happens after a few days. For example, yesterday I ran an update of around 30 stories for various sites (including FF) and everything was fine. Today, I'm getting this:

browser_cache_path is not set, or directory does not contain a known browser cache type: 'C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Prof iles\9c97js1u.default-release\cache2'
If I close and reopen both calibre and Firefox, it will run through fine. Clearing the cache via Firefox doesn't help. This also happens with Edge. I tend to leave my laptop running all the time and only reboot when it either forces me to or I need to update something. So it's like the cache gets old (and perhaps smelly?) after a few days. This has been happening for approximately a month, but I wanted to be sure I had all the info first. Plus, while it's a pita to restart everything (mostly because I leave multiple gmail acct pages up as well and I end up having to log in to each one in a specific order or they'll try and all be the same ... seriously, wtf?) it is workable. I tend to ignore the error for a few days and skip those stories until I have a few before starting the cycle over again.

I haven't tried the test version, mostly because I wanted to see if you think it will fix the issue for mine as well. It's hard sometimes to know on this end what the changes will really do.

Thank you!!!
