I kept a bunch of tech PDFs on my ereaders as emergency backup. My iPad Pro was used more often. For some PDFs, breaking out the laptop was the only way to go when I was trying to follow a diagram that in the paper edition unfolded to A2 size or larger.
The ereader was better than nothing though I never really got used to the amount of zooming and scrolling needed.
