Doing this really means supporting editing. If I can open templates then I will be able to change them. But not save them? That leads to being able to change icons. And the for-children flag. With reasonable visuals and undo.

The template dialog requires plausible data to run, meaning generation of fake item data. That isn't hard but it means that the template can't be tested beyond syntax.

I'm looking at adding editing, but I want to get it to the point where we can deal with the mismatched expectations.

The tooltip shows the template. You can right click and copy it.
