For me, the https://tools.keycdn.com/geo is off by ~4.0km while the geolocation.com site is off by ~17.7km. Neither is that bad for a system that is not designed to give exact results. Now if I use GPS, I get an error of ~9 metres. Much better than my oldest GPS unit which used to say my apartment was drifting at a couple of knots. I ran across items on several sites about the accuracy of IP geolocation and they pretty much all said the same thing:
Quote:
Rough measure of geolocation accuracy
Country: 95% to 99% accuracy
Region (State): 55% to 80% accuracy
City:50% to 75% accuracy
I've attached images with the results from both sites and the calculated distance from my location using Omnicalculator.com.
