My very first K2 had a sleeve. All others since then live in a case. The thinness actually makes them hard to hold for me. I had an oasis, which I sold a few years ago, and it was crazy slick. Using it without a case was a hard no.

I'm not a person who always drops things, but all my devices have occasionally taken flight. I remember tripping and a Kindle going clear across one room into another. The only device I've dropped and broke was the 2nd gen iPad Air, which was just a month old. Got a crack from one corner to the opposite one. It was in one of those covers with the pivot so you could turn it landscape to portrait. The weight of the iPad caused it to flip and be yanked out of my hand onto the metal carpet transition.
