Taxes, Fees and JUST BECAUSE THEY CAN.
FWIW 1/3 of my Cable (Internet only) is Taxes and fees. Some of those fees are them passing THEIR cost of doing business thru to the end customer.
BTW 'Fees' are Sales Taxable in California. We have Tax on Taxes. Vehicle fuels have Federal excise Tax, State excise tax and we pay local Sales Tax on the
total of those + the fuel. "Excise Tax is really a FEE because it is flat rate per gallon, not a % like sales tax" is their justification.
