But some books are just badly formatted and you're better off ignoring the embedded styles and use the default settings instead. You can further tweak them by changing settings and/or applying style tweaks. You ignore the book-embedded styles in the last tab in the bottom menu (gear).

If these eBooks are KePub, then it's the KePub that's at fault. I've never seen an issue where there are missing spaces in KOReader. But we know KePub can have missing spaces depending on which version(s) were used to convert ePub to KePub. If 3.7.1 and 3.7.2 of KoboTouchExtended were used, then there will be missing spaces. The only way to fix that is to install 3.7.3 and resend all KePub to the Kobo overwriting what already exists.
