@olerite FYI there are several open source tools on GitHub already that can export notes/highlights/annotations to Calibre from Apple Books (and vice versa I believe); however, I have not seen any project that would provide all the functionality you are working on providing with your tool.
Is your script/utility available on GitHub for us to try?
