IMHO these are the cases where Auto (the MDE is take all or abort) is to be avoided.

You might be able to fine tune (configure selected source) which source supplies what field.
FWIW I switched to using the ctrl-D version AND then using the Review... Button to see (and put back my versions ) each field. Unfortunately Custom columns are not availble on this method. OTOH there is a pulldown on the target to allow use of existing values (Authors,tags...)
I do wish there was a 'Leave blank' (do not enter icon) when a found field value was also not acceptable.
This method has a MERGE on the Identifiers arrow, so you could have multiples You can only have 1 of any type (ISBN)
