The original Oasis is a bit like a Voyage, similar 6″ screen. I think it can be opened. Possibly release order was Voyage, PW3, Oasis 1.

The 2nd and 3rd versions of the Oasis have a 7″ screen (sort of like Kobo Libra). AFAIK the two later Oasis models don't open.

If you never used the socket for data, maybe it's never worked due to D+ and D- not being soldered, or having a procoat left on. Try more cables and scratching the two inner connections with a pin.

Edit: I did have an Oasis 2 (32G + 3G version) and I still have a Kobo Libra and Kobo Libra 2.

Open as in take apart to replace a battery (really a cell) or otherwise see the insides.
