I just checked, and this is definitely not true. I have a series of books that I purchased years ago, and the author has since pulled all of them from publication. They are all still in my library and still have covers showing both in the "manage my content" page on Amazon and when I look at them on my Kindle.
Just another case of an Amazon rep spouting untruths because they are clueless and say whatever they need to say in order to end the call.
