Anyone else run into the issue where it doesn't want to download books?

I am running NextCloud and connecting to it via VPN. One of my phones works perfectly, but another phone gets the error in the attached image.

I am not sure how to fix this, the app isn't denied any permissions.

Edit: For anyone stumbling upon this thread, uninstall the app and keep trying again. Reaching out to the developer does nothing, they don't care and will not reply to any email.
