No problem liberating Kindle ebooks obtained via D&T. So whatever issue your acquaintance is having, it's not due to the latest calibre preview, DeDRM alpha, macOS Sequoia, or Mac Minis in general.
Pretty much seems to be the consensus. I'm going to try talking them through some tests and hopefully, we can get it working.
