The number of posts to allow editing varies a bit but generally 10 posts will allow editing.

The version from Marek's site is set to update from his site (http://fw.notmarek.com/koreader/). Tap on the hamburger menu, tap on Update and then tap on Settings. The Update server item will allow you to select where to look for updates and the Update channel will allow you to select Stable or Development.

You can also check the KOReader Nightlies and see what is available there. Currently, they have a KindleHF version from 2025-Jan-07. If you set the update server to ota.koreader.rocks and select the developement channel, I think this will allow you to install a nightly build OTA. If not, a manual download, unpack and copy will work.

Edit: If you do the update and it doesn't work, you can always copy the working version back your Kindle to restore KOReader to a working version.
