Not much patience needed for making the broth. Toss the wing tips, onion, garlic and celery (or the holy trinity of your choice * ) in the slow cooker with sufficient water, set to low and forget about it for 12 or more hours.

* The holy trinity varies between regional cuisines. Onion and garlic are quite common but the third member can be carrots, bell peppers, ginger, etc. Other countries have similar trios such as the German leeks, carrot and celery root, the Spanish onions, bell pepper and tomatoes or the Greek lemon juice, olive oil and oregano.
