Cabled phones easily exceed BT buds for quality and don't need charged or paired. Yes, I know there are big BT headphones, but none are as comfy as my 1990s headphones. Even my 1945 USA bomber headset is better than many BT. It has an adaptor from original plug to 3.5mm.

Also not all BT headsets / bud or host gadgets support high quality or lossless codecs (doesn't matter for audio books, only music).

My TCL Nxtpaper 40 does have 3.5mm jack and playtime exceeding anything I had previously, inc Android eink with 3.5mm jack.

I used to have giant headphones and a Philips radio while cutting my dad's so called lawn with the noisy Flymo in early 1970s.

I've tried loads of BT headphones and buds. They also don't go loud enough for impaired hearing.
