I have tried a factory reset. I dont see a LocalStorage directory on my device to delete per the instructions. I am using MacOS and the Kindle USB Manager app with this

delete the cache directory at the path .active_content_sandbox/store/resource/LocalStorage (Skip this step if the LocalStorage directory does not exist)
Delete the whole folder .active_content_sandbox and replace it. Use the app OpenMTP from https://openmtp.ganeshrvel.com/
