Dear mobileread,
I'm hoping one of you can assist me with this problem.
Last week I bought a second hand Onyx boox Note Air2 Plus. I didn't verify whether everything worked as it should when I bought it

, but when fully charged and power on first boot, i get the following message:
Quote:
"The device has been locked for security reasons. If you have bound an ONYX account, please unlock it on push.boox.com or the BOOX Assistant App, Under My Binding Devices. If there is no ONYX account bound, please get in contact with us by email"
|
I have already mailed Boox Support, but they state that only the previous owner can unlock it. (who is currently ignoring all messsages)
I have already updated to 3.5.4 via a sideloaded update.zip but the message is still there.
I read you can also flash parts of the firmware over EDL? Could that be the solution?
The message only appears after android has booted so it seems to me that the check is embedded in the software and not on a lower level.
If I could flash a 'clean' image and block all Boox traffic (AFWALL+), this might work?
