Where is the appropriate thread to vent about a health issue? It has nothing to do with my age, diet, drinking, etc. I was in a swimming collision on September 3rd, head to head. The other swimmer got in and came back the wrong way. My head was still hurting 4 days later, so I went to the ER. Went again two weeks later (to ER) and had a brain CT scan (no bleeding or anything abnormal -- concussions don't show on these). They told me I have PCS or post concussion syndrome. I call it PCP - post concussion pain.
No problems with my eyes, ears, standing up, no fainting, etc., but my head hurts every day for at least part of the day. Nausea too. Like a migraine, I think. Saw my regular doctor 2 days after the second ER visit. She said there was nothing she could do for me. Tried to get an appointment with neurologist (referred by ER to the hospital's neurolgogy department) and they gave me February 24th appointment. Tried to find another neuro online. Most weren't taking anyone until 2025 and this was late September. Now I am 4-1/2 months in. I tbought the pain would go away on its own. Some nights I cannot sleep. Others I can, but I'm never as rested as I was before this happened.
