If you answer my questions in post #4 we can probably tell you how to prevent the extra copies that are in your OneDrive account.
If your library is in a location that OneDrive autosynchs, e.g Documents, move it to a location that OneDrive doesn't autosynch.
Don't delete the cover.jpg files in the book folders of your calibre library — they are the source of what you see in Book details, Grid view, Cover view etc.
