Secrets I have found from braking Calibre
I am an expert at accidentally braking programs. As a noob it took me about 3 days. Took me about a day to find the fix but also find some other things.
Granted to make portability work well, If you uninstall Calibre your settings DO NOT get deleted. I uninstalled Calibre with Revouninstaller thinking that would help fix things. No my settings were still there. Never had the time to make changes because it would crash again.
Come to find out there was a not enough room problem. But the problem hit 2 different places. One is the temp folder. That is where most of the converting happens. Get a crash and that old folder stays and a new one is crated compounding your lack of room problems. Second spot is in the library itself. A hidden trash folder is crated so that if you change your mind it goes there to retrieve it. Makes sense except if you run out of room on that drive. That is also the place that is used to put zip work if you import one with a loot of books in it. My issue came because of lack of room on 2 drives. It was not until I cleaned out both places that I could than have a working Calibre.
I understand why things are setup the way they are, but in my case where I ran out of space on 2 different drives because how Calibre handles things, I ran into a constant crash loop that would not give me a chance at finding out where I went wrong.
