I know that, I had a program called TunesKit that did just that. I stopped my subscription to Audible a couple of years ago because they changed the format to enhanced which made them very large and unwieldy. That's when I changed to LibroFM because they still offer MP3 files so I didn't need to change the files from AAX like in Audible.
I am sad that I cannot use the library to check out audio books easily any more. I don't want to use my phone to listen to them, my MP3 player still works just fine. But now I can only purchase them, with the library I could check out books I wasn't sure I wanted to keep but was able to listen to them for free. Than option is gone for me now.
