I use the Qt Linguist-Standalone

to edit the language file, eg. …Sigil\translations\sigil_en.qm

– look for Spellcheckeditor --> Misspelled --> change the phrase to something shorter

and export back (NOT "Save" or "Save As"!)

It's really just a two minute job, but you probably should try your hand at a copy of the language file before "going live".
