The same thing is happening to my Kobo Clara 2E. I was reading using koreader and then I saw the bomb icon and a message that said that a problem had happened. The debug message said something about not being able to write in a read-only system. Sounded bad.
Now I have that: blank screen, flashing light, no way to recover it. Definitely sounds like a disk/SD card problem.
