It was available on YouTube for years and has just recently been blocked. Hopefully that means that Universal is cleaning it up for an official release.
I loved original Dune as well. It's not a faithful adaptation, but it's certainly the most entertaining of all the film/tv shows. It's also the best looking by far. I found digital cameras, grey filter over everything, and weird boxy design outright horrible in the WB version. I disliked it so much that I still haven't watched the second part.
