I can verify that the problem happens on both sideloaded and purchased epubs, but mostly with sideloaded books. I just opened a sideloaded book and discovered it was over 30% through the book. My last bookmarked page was at 6%. The light is no longer staying on when I close the Kobo cover, and battery life seems to have normalized, so my changes above helped, but I’m still having a problem with wandering last page read when opening a book.

My next step is to monitor the percentage of completions. Is the reading location wandering when I close the book, while I’m not reading the book, or when opening the book? Maybe it only happens when I use the bookmark feature. I just opened another book, this one purchased, and it was on my last read page. No bookmark. This seems mysterious and baffling atm, especially since nobody else seems to be running into it.

I did not have these issues until I upgraded to this firmware. Any suggestions?
