I received a response from my library, they only suggested I update ADE to see if the problem goes away. I did not since the last time I tried that, it made things worse. With my older Nook, I need the older version but of course that could end up not working anymore. Using this software has been a crapshoot all along so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
I tried another e-book checkout a couple of nights ago and I managed to get it to work. It still tried to open the file in Adobe Acrobat but I managed to open it in ADE from my file manager. This time it transferred it to my Nook just fine. Keeping fingers crossed it continues to work.
