Google & Apple can't now block Apps purchasing outside of the store. It was a scam, because Apple or Google would get a % of the sale for doing nothing. Hence previously Amazon couldn't do direct sales and wouldn't do them via Playstore.

It might mean free Apps can now be offered where the key to unlock premium / pro can be sold direct. Obviously Google and Apple wanted to have a monopoly on payments of apps via their stores.


Personally I would rather buy Amazon Kindle eBooks via web browser and check they are real reflowable ebooks that will work on eink Kindle.
