Good suggestions. I haven’t shut off auto wake and sleep, but I did turn off auto Natural light. However, I’ve been sick in bed and reading a lot—much more than usual. This could account for the battery “drain”, but it’s not as if I’ve never binged read before with this KLC.
However, I did some experiments and discovered that the light stays on when the sleep cover is closed. This puzzled me because it’s new behavior. If my sleep cover was at fault, wouldn’t I have run into these problems before this firmware?
I thought back to what settings I had changed since this latest firmware, and I had enabled screenshots to the power button permanently because the page turn buttons can now wake the Kobo up from sleep. So I have now disabled screenshots and will monitor its behavior. So far, so good.
As for the pages changing while the sleep cover is closed, it could be related. If the sleep cover isn’t turning off the Kobo, then it’s possible that while I’m holding the Kobo, the page turning buttons are being triggered.
