The rumor of a larger screen Kindle for textbooks has been around since before the Kindle 2 launch, and was reiterated just a few weeks after the Kindle 2 launch. I am surprised they're announcing it now (I didn't expect to hear anything more about it until June) but this is hardly a surprise if you had your ear to the ground.

Yeah, but come on. The first Kindle was released in November, 2007. The second Kindle was announced in early February 2009 and released a few weeks later. Now Kindle 3 is being announced... 3 months later?
And we all know that bigger, better, faster, color, etc. readers are coming. I just didn't expect Amazon to announce a new one 3 months after their last one.
