I bought the Clara Colour, thinking to replace my Clara HD. Now I'm using them both. This is significant in that in almost every case where I've bought the shinier, newer version of something, I quickly stopped using the previous model. My gut feeling is that the Clara Colour isn't worth the purchase.
The Colour is nice when there are color illustrations in the book I'm reading, but the murky gray background when reading plain B&W text is a turnoff. I have to use the light to gain enough contrast for my aging eyes to read without strain.
The HD is more hackable, as well. It was not difficult to replace the original 8 GB micro sd card with a 32 GB card. It holds more books than I've accumulated since I started reading ebooks well over 20 years ago, on a Palm T3.
My Clara Colour may still wind up being sold on eBay. The jury is still out...l
