Silent notifications option?

Since I installed Calibre 7.22, whenever there is a message about a completed action (like e.g. book conversion, of from the Count-Pages plug-in 1.13.6 by Grant Drake), I get a rather intrusive "PLING!" message on the right bottom of the Calibre window. In previous versions there were also messages, but they were silent and IIRC integrated in the main window and took less than 5 or 6 seconds to disappear. In any case they were far less annoying.
Is there a way to go back to old (pre-7.22) behaviour or to get rid of messages altogether? I searched the Calibre and the plug-in options, but can't find anything.
TIA.

UPDATE: I found that I can right click a message and then tell Windows to always reject all messages from Calibre-main (com.calibre-ebook.main-gui). I guess this is old pre-7.22 behaviour?
