You do NOT have a faulty device! FYI:
In my case it was not a faulty Kindle! Partly out of stubbornness and partly out of sheer morbid curiosity, I decided to order another brand-new Kindle Paperwhite SE 2024 (with a Black Friday discount this time around

) and it behaves
exactly like my previous unit!

anyone had any luck using Calibre on Mac OS with the new 2024 Kindles? Could it be my Calibre install that is somehow causing this???
I now have until January 31 before my return window expires, and I
really like the screen on the new Kindle, so I'd like to try and sort it out. But... ultimately, I will not a keep a device if I cannot access it reliably via USB, so please - if you have any ideas, let's hear them!
