I guess I was lucky I had 12 years to enjoy reading on my Nook. Now it's only good for buying books from B&N.

I read library books on my Nook all the time. When you sign in with your library card for the first time just make sure you don't check the box that says, "Yes, I use a Kindle". When you check out a book go to your library and select Manage Loan. Download EPUB and it will download the ASCM file that should open automatically in Adobe. Then copy to Nook.
I think I have decided that my next reader will be a Kobo, so library reading should get much easier.
