I think this question was answered elsewhere but place the content in the Apps/Rakuten Kobo folder to have them available to be synced to your Sage.
And remember that eInk is a bistable media. Once the screen has been set, it takes no power to maintain. Unlike LCD which requires continuous power, eInk only requires power to rewrite the screen so the sleep/power off screen takes no power.
The image that one person once used was to think of an eInk screen as tiny bits of paper, white on one side and black on the other. Flipping the bits of paper takes energy but once flipped, they just sit there.
