Color PDF files sideloaded to the Colorsoft are shown in black and white. It appears that the Colorsoft receives print replica KFX format because the regular PDF renderer on Kindles does not support color.

I have not seen any evidence that the other new Kindle models receive KFX instead of PDF and I do not know of any reason why they should.

They do appear to render properly on newer Kindles running the latest firmware, but not on older ones. I do not know what the cutoff is.
