Maybe someone can recommend some solution for my problem with PB632 described below...
Problem:
Won't start after failed Wi-Fi firmware update attempt. A detailed description of the problem is provided below. I've also attached a screenshot with the error message.
Needed:
Software recovery and firmware update.
Assumptions about what the problem is:
The bootloader file was damaged during an unsuccessful firmware update. The device needs to be repaired with software (restore the normal boot file?).
Description of the problem:
Battery charge at the beginning of the action ~70-80%.
In the evening, I was started updating firmware via Wi-Fi up toversion from 20.12.2021 (version 3.5.xxxx, as far as I remember). The reader downloaded 25% of the file, after which the Internet connection was lost.
The next day, I copied the Cool Reader update (CR3-v0.0.6-17-62.1-Pro5-PB632) to the device flash-memory.
I restarted the process of updating the e-reader via Wi-Fi. The file quickly "downloaded" to 25%, then downloaded much more slowly to 100%. I didn't watch the entire update process - I went away. When I returned, the screen showed the inscription "[...] File read error [...]", after which the reader did not boot normally.
Tried and tested solutions:
1. Long press the power button when the e-reader is switched on (when the LED in power button is on) - the e-reader switches off (the button LED goes out), the screen does not update.
2. Long/short pressing the power button when the reader is switched off (when the LED is off) - the e-reader switches on (the LED lights up), the screen does not update. The e-reader can stay in this state indefinitely (the LED does not go out unless you switch device off).
3. Simultaneously pressing the < + > + power buttons - the reader switches on, after which the screen updates several times (several blinks of the blank screen, then the "front" PocketBook inscription, then the firmware update screen, then the screen with an error message), the reader switches off (the LED goes out). Although sometimes it may not switch off after an error message, which may be due to pressing a button during the update process.
4. All combinations of recharging/rebooting with connection to a charger/laptop and replacing the micro-USB cable do not give any new results. When connected to a charger/laptop with the cable, the reader boots up (the LED lights up). Charging for any length of time does not produce any new results.
5. Once (after being switched on overnight), a screen appeared with a warning about low battery power.
