I spent six days trying to read this. I abandoned at 75%. It was dull, and I didn't care about the crime, the criminals, or our protagonist. No more!
Then I read
Starter Villain by John Scalzi in one go. Brilliant. Just a delightful read.
And now I'm giving
Scarlet by Genevieve Cogman a go. A recent freebie, I've enjoyed her Invisible Library series, so I'll ses how her French Revolution with Vampires series starts.
