No, it is actually preferable to have OTA blocked!
Just remember these:
1) JB with properly installed hotfix can survive only ONE factory reset or firmware update.
2) If you do one of these above, just make sure to simply reboot twice and reinstall hotfix.
3) If you do any two above actions in a row without restoring JB, you will lose JB for good.
4) Do NOT go to 5.17.x firmware at all! JB won't survive (at least in its current state).
