Yes, you’re right; just saw this
unboxing video and the yellow band is clearly visible even before the update is installed (can be seen from around 6:15 in the video).
Edit: a user comment on this video speculates that the yellow band is “screen glue setting and drying”, with other commenters confirming the issue got better after a few days on their unit. So yeah, as you said, we just have to wait and see
