And yet, the fact that this issue comes up at all is ludicrous! We hear buzz from Sony and reviewers that this is the "ipod" of books. Well, itunes practically BEGS you to download it! Apple wants you to have it on your desktop. They make it very available and very easy to download. Why? Because it is a desktop storefront, a place to sell you stuff - not just an organizer. And a huge chunk of $$$ valuable screen real estate at that. Itunes is a huge marketing vehicle. (And rightly so)

No so Sony. In typical fashion (and this is textbook 'old' Sony btw) they make their prime e-book software only available bundled with product and if you want another copy you need to come to them via a serpentine support route. Connection software downloads should be prominently displayed on the main website. Another indication that Sony truly does not get it. I applaud our fellow member for making copies of the software available to us enthusiasts - but if Sony ever wants to make this product fly with the mom-and-pop reading crowd, they had better do some quick turnaround.
