I’m not sure it’s that simple; Amazon didn’t explicitly add any new format to their list of supported file types.

In fact I think this might be similar to the handling of PDFs on the Scribe; as far as I know (please someone correct me if I’m wrong) the only way to enable writing directly on a PDF is by sending it via Send To Kindle. It’s not possible to write on sideloaded PDFs. Whatever transformation Amazon applies on their side cannot be done via Calibre, either because the actual output format is unknown, or because the Kindle won’t open it.
