I had 1 gb of ram on my main PC up untill 3 months ago when i was able to strip another pc and steal anothe gig,
1 gig of ram is plenty for win XP, unless you are running multiple adobe aps, or lots of java apps. there is an increase from 1 gig to 2, but not as big as 512 to 1gb
