Of course they do. But AI doesn't learn, analyse or understand. A copy is made.
Also human authors may credit inspiring sources. The AI companies provide a broken search because it's replaying what's been copied and rarely will reveal sources or incorrectly attributes them. It's practically a scam.

Also generally humans get a book via legal means. The AI companies are using entire copyright works without any payment to content creators.
