I tried a real keyboard on my Kobos that have BT. It's useless because the BT connection goes to sleep too quickly. I didn't need to add any software.

Also on Sage and Elipsa it only works anywhere the touch keyboard would appear (and will need reconnected), so it works for a lot of text notes in an annotation to a highlight in epub but is no use for PDFs or Nebo Notebooks (only pen works in them).

So I only make short abbreviated notes with touch keyboard. You can create an Advanced Notebook and put numbers and number you short annotations. Then swap between epub and Advanced Notebook using pull down. That only works on Kobos that have Nebo / Notebook feature, not a Libra 2, even though it supports the Kobo pen in Sketch Pad.
