Edit: the reason for that question is that the image is a low resolution 360x640 image.

Again interesting. My contacts at Kobo say that no Kobo ever showed ads such as the one you are claiming—BOL and FNAC for instance show their logos as the sleep screen but no 3rd party advertising. Other opinions is that is from v1. or 2. firmware from the font and screen layout. OTOH, a bit of research says that eyefly.com has been down and out for close to a decade so obviously not a recent image. If that image is authentic and has been sitting there for over a decade, it does say good things about the stability of eInk screens.
And for what it may be worth, the major difference between the N905 & N905B was using a removable µSD card for storage. The N905C had differences in the hardware. However the Kobo portion of the firmware was the same and none of them had advertisements according to a Kobo intern.
