I wrote an incredibly confused post, which rightfully went was ignored so I'm trying a somewhat more coherent post.
This is driving me completely nuts. Hopefully someone can help me. I've used calibre companion for years. A tablet crash meant I had to buy a new. Apparently companion is discontinued and I can't use it to dl and installing my library. Bought calibre sync and want to store my library on the sd card on my tablet (not on a cloud service since I need to use it without access to a cloud).
I've watched tutorials and whatnot, and there you can create a tablet library. However, when I open sync I'm taken directly to Smart Device with a drop down menu, which lists, search all library, all downloaded book, add library (when I choose this I'm taken to Add Library where I can chose sign in with dropbox etc, etc. I can chose calibre wireless but it's not a Library and can only be read when sync is connected wireless to calibre on PC.
I want my companion back! I've even tried to sideload it, but then it gives me the not authorized by google play song and dance.
I know there is a way to save it to the sd card, but how do I do it? And create a library with sync that's not stored somewhere else but the sd card.
Somebody please help and point me in the right direction?
