And the Kindle Colorsoft SE is a Paperwhite SE with color display. IMO 7" is not large enough for viewing full page comics, even 8" is pushing it. But it is an $80 jump so I think it is Gallery and not Kaleido, where the jump is only about half of that for Kobo Clara Colour and Pocketbook Era Color.

That's incredible news for my scribe then, although i mostly use it just to read manga.
I agree on color ereaders that small being really not that useful, i would consider reading comics on a 10" only, manga would be okay at 8" but comics need that 10" imho.. But i'm curious to see how it actually looks like cause a first look seems promising and a future scribe with colors could only be better, waiting for the day we're not losing clarity and colors are saturated enough for the classic lucid paper comics.
Also, i have to take for granted all new kindles are carta 1300 right?
