The Scribe seems exactly the same except for the bezel design (presumably now without 'the gap'). The Description says 'Kindle Scribe 1st edition - 2024 release'.
So I'm going to assume the notebook summary and Active Canvas features (and
Coming soon, you’ll also be able to write your notes in the side panel and easily hide them when you are done.) will be available on the existing Scribes as well via software update.
And the Kindle Colorsoft SE is a Paperwhite SE with color display. IMO 7" is not large enough for viewing full page comics, even 8" is pushing it. But it is an $80 jump so I think it is Gallery and not Kaleido, where the jump is only about half of that for Kobo Clara Colour and Pocketbook Era Color. This does not seem like Kaleido:
Quote:
Everything about Kindle Colorsoft was meticulously designed to deliver rich, paper-like color. It uses an oxide backplane with custom waveforms for fast performance and a higher contrast on both color and black-and-white content. Its custom Colorsoft display includes a new light-guide with nitride LEDs that, when combined with our custom algorithms, enhances color and increases brightness, all without washing out details. You can zoom in on images without worrying about pixelation, and you can choose between standard or vibrant color styles.

If I'm right about Scribe there's no reason to upgrade, and I'm on the fence about the Colorsoft SE.
